10th Annual Human Rights Learning Forum (HRLF)
Theme: “From Awareness to Action: Building Safer, More Inclusive Communities Together.”
Date: Thursday, December 4, 2025
Time: 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Location: St. Elias Banquet and Event Centre, 750 Ridgewood Avenue, Ottawa (Riverside Park /Mooney’s Bay Area)
Public transportation: Bus stop located on Ridgewood Avenue and directly in front of the venue (include bus stop #6924 or 7405 and on Riverside Drive #8287).
The Ottawa Police Service (OPS), in partnership with the Community Equity Council and the Vectors Group, invites you to the 10th Annual Human Rights Learning Forum, celebrating a decade of progress in advancing human rights and inclusion in policing.
Guided by the theme “From Awareness to Action: Building Safer, More Inclusive Communities Together,” this milestone event features engaging discussions, interactive workshops, and learning opportunities designed to foster collaboration, dialogue, and skill-building.
Participants will receive a Certificate of Participation at the end of the day in recognition of their engagement and commitment to human rights and inclusion.
Join us as we reflect on ten years of learning, listening, and impact — and work together to turn awareness into meaningful action that strengthens trust, equity, and safety across our communities.
We will explore topics, including:
- Community Safety and Policing Act (CSPA)
- Community Policing and the New Policing Model
- From Hate to Hope: Sharing Strength and Resources
- Principles of Bystander and Upstander Training
- Mental Health – CHANGE Initiative and Mental Health Unit
This year’s Human Rights Learning Forum will feature both interactive workshops and whole-group learning sessions, emphasizing collaboration, dialogue, and skill-building across diverse perspectives. Participants are encouraged to engage actively and share insights that strengthen equity and inclusion in policing and community partnerships.

Le Service de police d’Ottawa (SPO), en partenariat avec des organisations communautaires, a le plaisir de vous inviter au 10e Forum annuel sur l’apprentissage des droits de la personne (FADP) — une journée complète d’apprentissage, de collaboration et d’action.
Cette édition marquante célèbre dix ans de progrès sous le thème :
« De la sensibilisation à l’action : bâtir ensemble des collectivités plus sûres et plus inclusives. »
Le programme propose des discussions dynamiques, des ateliers interactifs et des formations certifiées axées sur les droits de la personne, l’équité et les partenariats communautaires dans le contexte policier.
